As I began to walk through this month I wasn’t sure what my theme to process was, but slowly God began to show me more and more what I needed to focus on, as He kept allowing conversations in regards to grace and humility begin to repeat themselves.

Grace defined:

-generous, free and totally unexpected and undeserved.

-help or kindness that God gives or shows to people

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

2 Timothy 1:9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

Some instances that occurred over the past two weeks were:

-learning more in depth about Grace in bible study.

-having a friend speak that I offered grace to them last month.

-as we walked past individuals who seemed different in some ways to how we chose to perceive them.

-having teammates speak Grace over one another in easy and challenging moments throughout the day.

-offering grace when people are quick to respond not the way that you thought they would.

-offering grace as a we begin to see more of people through His eyes.

-in the times where frustration could be built in, sowing seeds of laughter and peace instead.

-reminding myself that I am under Jesus and not anything else, so I need to allow Him to help transform my heart. He was waiting from before time began to give me grace, as He is waiting for you, if you haven’t already accepted His grace in your life.

Biblical humility defined:

believing what God says about you over anyone else’s opinion, including your own.

Ephesians 4:2 -Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

James 4:10 -Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up

Proverbs 22:4-Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.

Matthew 11:29-30 -Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Gal 5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

I experienced humility the last week in Costa Rica as I took time off from writing, took time off from reading, and just rested with the Lord. As I got injured (mild concussion, I’m fine, really?? ) The truth was Jesus would heal, my job was to just rest, my job was just to be with Him and nothing more. All of us found new ways to be encouraged, as the time fell into a gentle rhythm of morning, afternoon, and evening, in a beautiful cycle. I continued to trust and be humbled by ways that He wants more of us, and to lay down more of ourselves. Giving up what we know to be true, giving up ways that we perceive how something is going to go, and relying solely on Him. Knowing that He knows the beginning to the end of everything. Reminding myself and others to put on love for others, before I focus on myself. Seeking Jesus and asking for humility in the process of letting Him transform my heart to understand more of His fear and love that He wants to walk me through.
